What's in your hands?

Lausanne
Today was indeed the grand
finale of a marvelous week! The question Shirley Brownhill asked this morning:
"What's in our hands that we bring to the table and battle?" carried
through the day and took on new meaning this evening. She talked about the
pairing of prayer and action, engaging (the community) and how joined with a
passion to see God's glory known in the nations makes us as dangerous to the
enemy as a "slingshot".
All four of us locations had the privilege to hear from Mark Anderson, Brian
Brennt, and Jim Stier this morning, coming to us from Kona, and Dayton, Ohio
as great prophetic voices for this generation and the "time such as
this". First shared with us was the vitality of having Christ as the
center, told through the recap of the story of Saul and David, comparing their
leadership decisions with the Ark of the Covenant! Moses confirms in Exodus
33:16, "How will anyone know... unless you go with us?” The Holy Spirit's
prompting us all to, in urgency, pursue increase of intimacy which is the oil
of life. "Desperation is the calling card that you're getting ready!"
for what the Lord is doing. Prayed over all of us was that we would have grace,
expectation, faith, creativity with the Lord and break through! Amen.
Prophetically as well we were able to look at possibilities as to what the new
wave of missions may look like and how it will reach the "all".
Tonight’s commission!
Markus Steffen led out tonight once again, humbly and gracious to all those who
have poured forth their efforts to make this week possible, from leadership to
the families who sent loved ones to participate.
We were able to have a special look at the project for the new and improved
websites for the University of the Nations and YWAM! The teams are doing a
terrific job putting this together and though it is still in its early stages
and not complete yet, it was exciting to see the creativity, accessibility and
usefulness of the site.

We took an offering for the "Jerusalem" of Lausanne tonight, led out
by Loren Cunningham, to invest and feed back into the "house". Loren commissioned
the "eldership" down to the youth to carry the torch, and he
retouched on the story of Esther and how we as a mission are a "young
girl" who is maturing to save the world. Telling stories from God's
goodness and faithfulness of the past to the challenge of how we are to be His
vessels today... the truth is the same: "People come to where the fire is
when it's cold outside." As a symbolic and prophetic act, we lit our
flames, from Loren to the DTS (symbolizing the youth of today), and went
outside to the 4K map praying as we carried the flame (symbolizing of the Holy
Spirit) and friut(fulness) to the nations.
After which, we began to celebrate- singing and dancing over hot coffee, saying
sad goodbyes to dear friends (both new and old), and some even keeping their
fires burning to the late hours of the night.
We celebrate where we have come from, knowing that we are only able to be here
today because of those who have gone before us. Loren and Darlene serve the
Lord well and truly mark us with a legacy, showing true humility and obedience
to the Lord. Markus and Anita Steffen embody true servant leadership, prayer
and family to this base and all who look to their source. YWAM Lausanne is
especially grateful to you, we love, respect and honor you tonight. May the
Lord's grace and blessing surround you.
May we never forget the things that the Lord revealed to us during this time,
the friendships that were made and the promises He has for our future. It's
wonderful to serve our God, and with such a caring family that is united, we
are blessed indeed. Thank you each of you for being a part of this journey, for
carrying your torch and for walking in obedience to the call He has on your
life... "For Such a Time as This".
